Location: Fish Creek Falls

Fish Creek is a spectacular place to try your skills at ice climbing. Great for beginners or those interested in trying ice climbing. All climbing equipment and instruction is provided by knowledgeable guides.Only five minutes from downtown and a short hike to the base of the falls, RMV guides provide instruction on ice axe and crampon (spiked boots) technique and set-up a climbing top-rope on a pre-set anchor (just like in climbing gyms, only on ice). Climbers can climb as high as they want and be lowered whenever they please. RMV guides promote a positive learning experience on a 200 foot waterfall in the beautiful Fish Creek canyon. If you're lucky, you might even get to see the water flowing behind the ice…

 

Meeting Place: RMV guides will meet clients at lodging, fill out paperwork and fit into necessary equipment, then hit the trail! Clients may get outfitted at our office if they wish, 2619 Copper Ridge Circle #3.

 

Equipment: Dress warm, as if you were going skiing or snowboarding, with layers you can add or shed. Have warm, dry gloves and a thin hat that covers your ears (large hats will not fit under the climbing helmet). Don’t forget your camera. Puffy jackets, gloves, gaitors, poles are available for all trips.

 

Transportation: RMV can provide transportation for up to SEVEN adults, or clients can follow in their own vehicles.  Groups of eight people or more need to provide additional transportation or make arrangements through RMV for the group.  Transportation fee may apply.

 

Lunch: Complimentary lunch provided by Backcountry Provisions for all Full Day trips

 

Times may vary:  For all RMV trips, we can customize the times and logistics to meet clients needs and preferences. To discuss a custom trip or clinic, call or email.

 

Confirmation: Call to confirm the week you arrive. Your guide will contact you to go over details of trip within 24hrs of trip.

 

Cancellation Policy: RMV must receive at least 2 weeks notice for full refund. Less then 2 weeks notice will incur a 10% booking fee.  Less then  48 hours notice will be charged 50% of trip cost. Less then 24 hours notice or no notice at all – we will charge the credit card for the total trip cost. Discretion will be used for special instances.
